Well it was just her illusion in mind of that mad cap driver, Because she comes in his life just once and left him for ever. It also gives sense that he still loves her and her image is still in his mind.
I also agree with Muhammad throughout the movie it becomes clear that Travis is mentally unstable and i personally believe that that part is all in his head
i think the Travis Bickles still love her but it is just like a dream in his mind. she not really there and i think he got a little bit regret for revenge the society~
i think he already dead , movie try to make sure not a young girl that he love,he just driving in his dream and thinking of her,also movie don't wanna make a lot of sad feeling in the end
